log-EZ TR32B

Data Collection and Management with Mobile Devices

Thermo Recorder log-EZ TR32B is a temperature and humidity data logger with Bluetooth® communication function.

Device configuration and data collection can be performed using the T&D Thermo application running on a mobile device. By using our free cloud storage T&D WebStorage Service, users can access collected data via a web browser and analyze with the T&D Graph Windows application.

This section gives an overview of the TR32B, including device preparation and display details.

  • In this Help, TR32B is also referred to as simply the "device", "data logger" or "logger".
  • T&D Thermo is also referred to as "mobile app" or "app".

Device Preparation

Battery Installation

Remove the battery cover and insert the supplied AA alkaline battery.
Recording will start automatically with the default or previous settings.
Note: Leaving the device without a battery until the LCD display goes blank will cause all recorded data in the unit to be lost. (Device settings such as the device name and recording interval will not be lost.)

Default Settings:
Recording Mode Endless (Upon reaching capacity of 8,000 data sets, the oldest data is overwritten and recording continues.)
Recording Interval* 10 minutes
Device Name* Model_Serial Number
*Can be changed in the app.

Estimated Battery Life

Battery Life Conditions
Rec Interval Data Collection
About 7 months 1 sec once a day
About 9 months 2 sec,
5 sec
About 1 year 10 sec or more
Battery life varies depending upon multiple factors including ambient temperature, recording interval, frequency of communication, and battery performance. All estimates are based on operations carried out with a new battery and are in no way a guarantee of actual battery life.

Precautions for Battery

  • There is a risk of fire or explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Use and replace only with correct size and type (AA alkaline) of battery.
  • Do not disassemble, modify, mechanically crush or cut the battery, as it may cause battery leakage, overheating, explosion or fire.
  • Do not dispose of a battery into fire or a hot oven as this can result in an explosion.
  • Do not leave a battery in an extremely high temperature surrounding environment or subjected to extremely low air pressure that can result in an explosion or the leakage of flammable liquid or gas.
  • Do not install the battery in the wrong direction. Doing so may result in product malfunction, battery leakage, overheating or explosion.
  • If battery fluid gets on your eyes or skin, wash thoroughly with clean water. See a doctor immediately if it gets in your eyes.
  • The supplied battery is non-rechargeable and should not be recharged.
  • Use in high or low temperature environments will result in a shortening of the battery life.
  • If the unit is not to be used for a long period of time, remove batteries. Leaving batteries inside the unit may cause battery leakage and malfunction.

Stand Installation

Use the provided stand if necessary.
It can also be wall-mounted with screws. Please be careful not to drop the stand and logger. (Note that you will be charged to repair the data logger if it is damaged by dropping after purchase even within the warranty period.)

  • The stand is also available as an option (AT-32K2) for replacement.

The Display

The TR32B alternates display of temperature and humidity every second.
The temperature display unit (Celsius/Fahrenheit) can be switched from the [Rec Settings] menu of the app.

Connection/Communication Status

ON: Bluetooth Connected
BLINKING: Bluetooth Communication in progress...

Connection LED (blue) also blinks while connected to Bluetooth.

Battery Warning Mark

Indicates it is time for the battery to be replaced. When this appears, replace the battery as soon as possible.

  • A low battery may cause communication errors.
  • Leaving the logger without replacing a battery until the LCD display goes blank will cause all recorded data in the unit to be lost.

Messages

Insufficient Battery Power

After the battery warning mark () is displayed, if you continue to use the logger without replacing the battery, this message will appear alternately with the current temperature and humidity.

  • The recording will continue but Bluetooth communication with the app will stop.

Operation Stopped

If the battery is further left unchanged, the display will automatically shut off and all recorded data will be lost.

  • Device settings such as the device name and recording interval will not be lost.
